I'm a 14-year-old homeschooler, and my brother, my parents, and I took Dr. Rashidi's class on the Global African Presence. It was a great class! Dr. Rashidi has an amazing memory, and it was challenging trying to absorb everything. He is one of our African treasures, and I felt privileged to take his course. We'll be taking the next session too. My parents went to Dr. Clarke's lectures and Dr. Hilliard's when they were in college, but thanks to Baba Obadele, I'm able to take classes from Dr. Rashidi as a high schooler--and it's great. :D

Black liberation, i really was awaken with the task of having to put myself in a postion, of looking back and seeing our race destoyed. It is really a fear, a fear that must be conqeured and overcome. This book (The Last Black Man Standing) makes one really understand what sankofa is really about. Having to ponder what side am i really on, thinking deeply about my ideas. Who is really controlling the black mind. What must i do to keep the race alive, please read the book and most of all listen. Dr. kambon has become my teacher, though his work in this book, and also the class was special to be able to kick it with him online. Every afrikan in the world must read this book, if you think you know, you don't. Ideas are the substance of ones behavior. LBMS says who team are you really on? THINK,THINK,THINK,THINK, KALIF AKBAR SANKOFA. (I NEED YOUR DAD TO COME AND DO A WORK SHOP IN GRAND RAPIDS)

Thanks so much for allowing us the opportunity to take Dr. Rashidi's class on the Global Afrikan Presence! It was a great overview and exposed me to much history that I'd never heard of before. I now know more about the context of the Black experience and am
excited to learn more through your website and the books he has mentioned.

Maaha,
I have wanted to learn Twi for many many years. I've tried teaching myself with a book and tapes, but I could only get so far without actually interacting with anyone. A friend of mine pointed me to AbibitumiKasa, and I am so greatful to her.
The class has been wonderful for me. I am currently in training to be Okomfo and I felt I should learn as much Twi as I could to help me with my training.
I think anyone truly interested in any traditional Afrikan culture MUST learn its language. It is one thing to sing songs, and learn prayers. But to understand them and really make them your own is a glorius thing that can only bring you closer to your goals.
Meda ase piiiiiiiiii.

Nkoso
I am Neico Sa-Ra, Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Teacher, Warrior: Nkoso! My interest in learning Twi originally stemmed from a comment Okomfo Nana Kweku Sakyi made. I wanted to study the Akan Spiritual System, specifically from the Bono Tekyiman region and while in a study group with Nana Sakyi he stressed that we can not really know the spiritual tradition unless we know the language. This comment from Nana spoke to the importance of learning the language because it is a reflection of the culture and the culture is a reflection of the spiritual tradition. My first Twi class was with okyerekyrefo) Kwame: Obadele and he continues to be the voice of clarity in not only the language but in the culture as well. Abibitumi Kasa has guided me on my path of Sankofa and for that I am grateful. Understand that Obadele's teachings are special not only because of the emphasis on clarity of speech and intonations but also for the warrior spirit that is behind each and every lesson. Today a Ghanaian who viewed just the proverb page reported that she learned not only proverbs that she didn't know but words that she had lost in her americakkkanization process. If Abibitumi Kasa can do this and hook the sista up at just a glance just think of what it can do for you....., Abibitumi Kasa is HOT all day long, if you haven't already you should check us out!!

Greetings Everyone!
Obadele is a superb instructor. I have had the pleasure of taking two Afrikan language classes with him, one Akan class and one Yoruba class. The classes are very well taught, with a true sense of authentic Afrikan culture, and history. He BlackNificently encorporates, Afrikan proverbs, stories, songs, and libations to help us grasp the true meaning behind the language. I encourage everyone to take at least one Afrikan Language class with Obadele. He has truly helped me to answer the call of our Ancestors by doing my best to reclaim my heritage. May his path be always blesssed for he is a beacon of light that guides the way in our success for liberation and freedom.
Meda wo ase OkyerEkyerEfo Obadele, I am eternally grateful for the important role you have played in my sankofa process. Peace and Blessings of Afrikan Love Always!
