Course Description:
This course introduces students to a brief history of the Ga Language, how students will use the
language in expressing themselves in everyday activities, use expressions related to personal,
family and professional life. Various aspects of the Ga Grammar will also be taught as well as
the festival celebrated by the Gas and some cultural practices in the Ga community.

Course Goals:
The goals of this course are for students to:
 Be introduced to the history of the Ga language.
 Be introduced to the cultural practices of the Ga community and their festivals.
 Be able to talk about themselves in Ga
 Express themselves using words or expressions related to greetings, weekday and
weekend activities, time indications, object descriptions, body, give opinions or advise as
well as their likes and dislikes.
 Talk about nouns, adjectives and adverbs in Ga.

Course Objectives:
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
 Identify the group of people associated with the language.
 Greet people and converse with people in the language.
 Give a vivid account of the some Ga festivals.
 To be able to talk about some cultural practices of the Gas.
 Give a description of themselves in Ga.
 Talk about what they like and dislike.


Class Begins November 8th

Course Requirements:
Notes, audios and other relevant materials for this course will be posted online for students to
have access to. Students are to do their assignments and post it online for the instructor to correct
the errors and meet in the chat room for group discussion. Students are allowed to ask any
question or direct them to my email address.

Course Schedule:

1 Introduction to the Ga language. Learning the
alphabets and how they are pronounced.
2 Everyday expressions like greeting, how to say
your name and other day to day expressions.
3 Noun, adjectives, adverbs and verbs in Ga.
4 Describe yourself and talk about others as well
as objects.
5 Professions in Ga.
6 Cultural practices in Ga.
7 Festivals celebrated by the Gas.
8 General communication in Ga. Here, students
are to utilize the knowledge gained so far from
the above in discussion with the instructor.
