From the Intro:
When it comes to curriculum, I like to start with a question that Amos
Wilson asked, "What kind of Afrikans do we need to solve the kinds of
problems we have?" This question centers my thoughts powerfully. It helps
me to hone in on the skills and abilities our children must possess to in order
for their education to truly be an education for liberation. This question does
not allow our minds to fall back on European notions of education and
forces us to stay true to ourselves and our plight.
